Cartomancy with Playing Cards

If you have ever wanted to read cards, either for yourself or someone else, but don't have access to Tarot cards, then this can be an inexpensive and equally effective solution.

Some people might argue that it won't work the same, because they're just ordinary playing cards.  Well, playing cards are manufactured in the same place as Tarot cards, and they can both be used for cartomancy or playing games.  In fact, history has it that Tarot cards were originally used for that purpose.

Playing cards are similar to Tarot cards in many ways.  Both have four suits, both have cards that range from Ace to Ten, with face cards.  The biggest differences are that there is no Major Arcana in playing cards, and there are only 3 face cards per suit.

When casting cards, the same spreads can be used for playing cards as can Tarot cards.  Keep in mind that there are no reversals for playing cards.
